39 Weeks

Less than a week till my due date! Even though my due date is near it still seems so far away especially after I was checked today and I am still 2 cm's. I have been 2 cm's for a month now! I asked the doctor if that was concerning to him that I haven't made any progress in a month and he said no. He said it was more concerning that I was 2 cm's a month ago. He asked me how overdue I want to go before we talk induction. After discussion I told him around 41.5 weeks I would consider it. I know there is still plenty of time to go into labor on my own but it's something he wants me to be thinking about. I wouldn't even consider induction if it weren't for the fact that babies that go too far overdue are also know to have issues and a stressful labor which can lead to a c/section. He offered to strip my membranes to possibly get something going but I declined. He said if it works it usually stimulates labor over the next 48 hours. This weekend is my last 3 shifts at work and I would like to finish them before I go into labor. Maybe next week at my appointment I will let them. I really want to be home when it happens and not at work even though eventually labor will take me back to work! No other news to report...just waiting for baby!
