40+ Weeks

Yes, I am still pregnant! I never thought I would be over 40 weeks and still waiting to meet our little one but after yesterdays appointment it sounds like it could still be a while. After about 5 days of different cramping and more intense contractions, I was sure I had made some progress. Of course it was a big fat NEGATIVE. No changes again. Almost a month and a half at 2 cm's. I don't think I have ever been so frustrated. We had to set up my induction date in case I am still pregnant in a week. The group of doctors I see don't really like you to push the 42 week mark so next week, when I am about 41.5 weeks I have agreed to be induced. I really want to avoid it so please pray I go into labor before Wednesday. He attempted to strip my membranes but I don't think it was very successful because it didn't hurt when he did it and I didn't have any cramping or spotting afterwards like most people do. We have to head to the hospital sometime this weekend to do an NST (Non Stress Test) to check on baby and make sure she is still doing ok. At this appointment her heart rate was the lowest it has ever been and my blood pressure was the highest it has been throughout the pregnancy. The Dr. wasn't too concerned but I think I will feel better to check on things this weekend. This week I only meassured 38 weeks, the same I meassured last week, so I don't think she is getting to big or at least I hope she isn't!

My sister (Randi) and mom came down for my appointment yesterday and to take us to lunch. I think they can sense how stir crazy I am getting with my time off waiting for baby. They ended up staying till 10 or so last night trying everything we could to get something going. We even got to have dinner with Kyle, Alaina, and Beau and watch Beau's new crawling skills. We went for 2 walks and did lots of bouncing on an exercise ball but nothing really seemed to change except I was pretty tired by the time they left! Even though I was tired I was up by 5 this morning just waiting for Gary to wake up. I think I woke up to pee about 6 times last night and tossed and turned the rest of the night. Today sounds like a good day for a nap or labor...bring it on!

Hopefully the last pregnancy pictures....
