One Month Old

Yesterday marked Delaney's one month birthday.  I can't believe how fast that month went by.  I am so thankful to be home from work for these few months following her birth.  I had things I wanted to get done during my time off but everyday I am learning that those things just aren't near as important as spending time with my baby girl.  Gary and I both enjoy her much more when she is awake and happy versus awake and fussy.  She is so fun when she is in a good mood.  Of course I love her when she is cranky too, but it definitely takes much more patience.  She does not like to get bored and will let you know when she is.  Gary calls her "high maintenance."  She loves to be held but you have to either be walking, swaying, bouncing, vibrating, or dancing.  Sitting with her is just simply not acceptable to her.  Boy, does she have an opinion already.  They say you can't spoil babies, when does this no longer become the truth?

Sleeping Beauty
Today we took our first walk without the stroller.  We took the pups and enjoyed a little much needed vitamin D.  I had her head tucked in more when we were walking.  As soon as she realized she wasn't getting fed, she enjoyed the wrap and fell asleep for most of the walk.

At one month old Delaney.....

*Sleeps 4-6 hours at a time at night, but still feeds every 2-3 hours during the day.  For the most part she sleeps well through the night, sometimes we have had trouble putting her to sleep but luckily that doesn't happen too much.  She still sleeps in her car seat with all the bells and whistles like the nightlight and white noise.

*Has mainly two sounds:  1.) I'm bored and need attention so I am going to make lots of sad noises.  This one is easy to fix by giving her your undivided attention.  and 2.) The I'm very upset scream and the only thing that will fix it most of the time is food.

*She likes being on her tummy sometimes but tries to eat the floor, blanket, your leg, arm, etc.  So it doesn't last long before you hear sound #2 above.

*She tracks items like the birds on her bouncer and the mobile in her crib but doesn't trace items that are held in front of her yet.
