Thanksgiving

I am sadly writing this post on Thanksgiving night, while I am at work and all I can think about is my sweet baby. And I thought working the holidays was hard before I had kids!  This brings it to a whole new level.  I am so thankful for my job, but this momma was not made to be away from my baby. On the positive side, I get Christmas off. I am soooooo excited to be able to spend it with family and now share every holiday with Delaney. Having her brings a much needed new joy and spirit to the holidays. I can't wait to start new traditions and continue the old. Although I worked, we all still had a good Thanksgiving week. It started with Gary and Delaney's visit to Grandma's. I wish I could have joined them but luckily Gary took some good pictures of their time for me to see. We were so lucky to have Aunt Denee and Uncle Chris home for the holiday. I couldn't sleep after they got home so we enjoyed a few hours of family time before I had to go back to work. Gary and Bucky were both successful in their hunt on Friday. Saturday we were able to have a wonderful dinner out at Grandma and Grandpa's and visited with Denee and Chris before their long trip home. It was so nice to see everyone and have some much needed family time. The food was great, like always, and Grandma's house is always so cozy and festive.

Most importantly on this day, I must recognize the blessings I have to be thankful for.  There are so many, and I am continually reminded of how blessed my life is.... I am thankful beyond words for the love of my husband.  There is not a day that goes by-especially since the birth of our baby-that I don't look at him and wonder how I got so lucky.  Somehow I picked a pretty amazing man.  I couldn't have dreamed up a better father for my child.  His love for her is breathtaking.  I feel like the strength of our family is unbreakable and think to myself every moment how much I love my sweet little family.  The core of our family stems from some pretty amazing parents, grandparents, and siblings who we are both very thankful to have surrounding us and Delaney.  Although I know we complain about work often, we are both grateful to be employed.  Not only are we employed but we both have pretty great jobs too.  My job may not be everything I wanted or expected, but being present as a family grows is such an incredible gift.  Our beautiful, warm home is not forgotten.  Or the fuzzy ones that keep a smile on our face.  Lastly, the gift of my daughter.  What a life changing experience she has provided me.  She is so amazing.  Beautiful, healthy, and a little spit fire!  She has more personality than I could have ever anticipated and she makes me laugh all day long.  Watching her grow is a dream.  She has completed me.  She is my life.  Yes, we are blessed.
