Finding Out About Baby #2

August 26th, 2012- Today was the day I found out we will be expecting you, baby #2 in May. I am currently working and filled with so much excitement. I can hardly stand it.  I am anxiously waiting and watching as the minutes and hours go by until I get to tell your Daddy about you.  You have the most amazing big sister who will love you to pieces and parents that are over the moon excited about your existence.  I know the next 10 months may be a little rough, but I would do anything for you already!

September 4th, 2012- Even though I was so excited I could hardly contain myself, I really didn't want to tell Gary and then have to immediately head off to work.  I wanted to celebrate the news, together as a family and not be rushed.  I will never forget telling Gary about expecting Delaney, and I wanted it to be the same this time around.  We are beyond excited.  I am truly as excited for this baby as I was for Delaney, even though she was our first.  I feel so incredibly blessed to be able to carry another miracle.  I can't wait for Delaney to become a big sister, she will be so amazing in her new role.

Just like with my pregnancy with Delaney, this is the part where I may share too much for what you want to know but I want to remember this time in our lives so here it is!

Gary always wanted to have our babies close together, like 18 months apart close!  I felt like that was a little to close for me:)  I talked Gary into waiting until June to start trying for baby #2, so Delaney would be at least 2 when she became a big sister.  He reluctantly agreed and that is what we did.  This time around my cycles were a little better and closer together so it only took 2 to get pregnant, yeah!!  Again I know this is a true blessing and can't believe it didn't take more time.   As I remember with Delaney, that 2 week waiting window to find out if your pregnant or not feels more like 2 months!  Of course this time I got impatient and only waited about 11 days before testing.  I knew it was early but I couldn't help myself!  I was pretty shocked to find the barley there pink line.  Like last time, I tested again several times and continued to get the same double pink lines.  I was really in disbelief.  I didn't think it would happen this quickly but am so glad it did.  Anyways, like I said I waited almost 24 hours before telling Gary.  I have never watched the clock so much in my life!  I found out when I woke up to go to the bathroom from my sleep after working night shift.  Bad idea to test at this time because I couldn't go back to sleep from all the excitement.  I worked that night and had to stay awake the next day until Delaney napped.  Gary got home at his normal time and found Delaney wearing a cute 'Big Sister' shirt I have been hanging onto since June.  He noticed it right away and gave me a big hug.  I made him the same cake I made when I told him about Delaney that had our due date written on it.  I believe it is May 9th, but will find out more when we do our first ultrasound at the end of the month.

I am writing this part as I am 5 weeks and some days and the only symptoms I have had are a little more tiredness than normal and frequent urination!  I know with Delaney I didn't start getting sick until about 6 weeks.  I don't know what it is about nausea, but for me it was reassuring.  I guess I always felt reassured that everything was normal if I was still nauseated!  Hey, at least I found some silver lining, right? I am not looking forward to it this time around but I think the pregnancy will set in more when I start to feel a little more pregnant.  I would like to wait again until the end of the first trimester to tell everyone, but I don't think it will be as east this time. Friends and family are constantly asking us about baby #2.  I did make it through Paul Bunyan Days without it coming out though!  My "drink" consisted of nothing but straight cranberry juice!

Oh NO!  Not another one!  Poor puppies just may have to start liking Delaney after they have to deal with a new baby again!
