My baby is 2!

So hard to believe we have a 2 year old now. Our sweet girl is growing up...way too fast!  She is getting smarter by the minute and is a lot of fun these days.  We love and adore her so much.  Both Gary and I are continually surprised about how much our love has grown since she was born.  We both didn't realize it was possible to love something so much!

What Miss Delaney is like these days....

She has always had her own personality that is for sure.  She has more attitude and drama than I ever thought would come from something I gave birth to.  I am sure I have my moments but she has a much different personality than I imaged my mini me would have.  She knows what she wants and she knows how to get it.  I love that she is her own person and has developed her own opinions.  She is very particular about many things, which reminds me of how she was as a baby.   She let us know even back then, what and how she wanted things.  Now days she lets you know how to put her lotion on, what she wants to bring to bed, how she wants to eat her meals, when she needs more ice in her water, and so many more!  She is still very picky about her face and hands being clean while she is eating.

She unfortunately has abandon many of her healthier food choices. She does still like fruit most of the time.  She is still a good milk and water drinker.  She tends to eat better if you present her food in a fun way, like her own little cup to pack around or a fun plate.

She loves to dance still.  I am not sure where she has learned her moves.  They are pretty hysterical at times and sometimes a little unnerving that she can shake her hips like she can:{  She sings more these days too.  If a pretty melody comes on, she is humming along in a sweet little voice.

Her giggles are my favorite.  At least once a day she is full on giggling.  Sometimes it's when daddy is rough housing with her or when we are on the swings at the park across the street.  I just love it.

She has developed her own independence and now wants to walk most of the time when we are away from the house.  Unfortunately she is a little too independent in stores and doesn't like to stick close to us.  It's not much fun right now because it usually ends up in a fight.  She ends up being picked up or put in the shopping cart, she throws a massive fit over both.  Hopefully this gets better soon.

She hates getting dressed!  This is a daily battle that I don't enjoy, but thankfully it's usually our only one.

She is still a great little sleeper.  She generally sleeps 12 hours every night and takes a 1-3 hour nap each day.  She still loves her crib and although she could easily get out of it, she doesn't even try.  She has started to want some stuffed animals to tucked in at night with her....so sweet!

She is still a very affectionate baby and loves to give hugs and kisses.

She loves to wave "hi" and "bye" to everyone.  She does it to strangers even when they don't say a word to her.

Her vocabulary has grown a little.  She is trying to make more sounds and seems to understand more each day.

She had her 2 year appointment this week.  Dr said she looks great and he thinks she will be making much more progress on speech in the next 6 months.  She is 28 pounds-67% and 35.75 inches-91%.  If what they say is true about doubling your 2 year height, she is going to be a tall girl at 5'11".

She wants to be involved in whatever I am doing all day long.  She rarely plays independently.  She loves to bring me books to read to her all day.  She got the movie "Lady and the Tramp" for her birthday and wants to watch it everyday!  It's been the first movie that she actually sits and will watch for a little more than 10 minutes.
