6 Months
Oh Holdey Bug, (yes, that is the nickname that has happened to stick with you), just when we thought you were liking life a little more....you got an ear infection:(
This was the first one we've experienced as parents and unfortunately, we failed horribly. Poor guy was a mess for a week. This happened to be the same time as Delaney's birthday party so I was a little preoccupied. We thought it was for sure teeth, until his 6 month check a week later. The doctor said he had a pretty bad ear infection, and I felt like the worst mother ever for missing it and letting it go on so long. By that point he was actually better so I was actually surprised. But the weeks before were rough. He slept horribly and basically required held all day again. He is better now and is back to his old sleeping routine. Definitely better but still not great.
Holden at 6 months old....
You usually wake up twice during the night to eat and go back to bed easily after you are done. I can handle waking up twice a night to feed you but what I can't handle is waking up at 5 am. Momma is not a morning person, so I really hate to wake up at that time. The problem with this is also that you are exhausted by 7 or 8 am which is the time we are trying to get your brother and sister ready for the day. You end up screaming until it's time to go and then you fall asleep first thing in the car when we head down the hill. It doesn't really work well for anyone. Our mornings go much smoother when you sleep in till 7 and then are happy while everyone else is waking up and getting ready...plus mamma gets to sleep in a little longer! Let's work on that, ok?
Sometime over the last month you stopped taking your pacifier. I'm thinking it was because your ear hurt:( It's made night time a little more difficult but we're working through it.
You have developed a new love for your sister. She pays a little more attention to you now that you giggle and smile at her. She really likes it. And so do you.
You are liking your Bumbo and your Jumperoo more. Both are pretty short lived for you, but it gives us a few minutes here and there to do other things besides hold you.
You smile and laugh quite a bit. And it's so cute. Your chubby round little face scrunches up and I just want to squeeze you. You also have big and expressive eyes. Your hair is coming in thicker now. It's coming in a dark brown color. You still only have your two bottom teeth. I think you look more like Delaney as a baby, but your dad thinks you look more like Cannon. Either way, all three of you are very similar looking. Round faces, button noses, and chubby cheeks.... just to name a few.
Unfortunately, you still puke often. We aren't exactly sure why but the doctor isn't too concerned and says it should resolve over the next few months.
You can roll very efficiently but that's about it. You really don't get set down too much so you haven't had a whole lot of time to work on things like crawling or sitting up. Your getting really wiggly to hold sometimes but occasionally you are really snugly too and just lay on my shoulder or chest without moving. I love those times with you.
You took a little break from liking solids, but you are back to eating fruits and veggies twice a day. You seem to pretty much like everything, but you really like sweet potatoes and squash.
