The most amazing day!

Today was the best birthday ever. I am still on cloud 9. Seeing the baby today was so special. We feel blessed that we are even carrying this precious gift and I would have been ecstatic over either sex, we just prayed for healthy, but as much as I tried to suppress it...I really wanted a girl.

In the middle of checking all of the babies measurements, the ultrasound tech said, "And you are having a little girl." I wasn't expecting it at that moment. She had a very clear shot that showed nothing between her legs. It was even obvious to me that there were no boy parts! My eyes welled up with tears instantly. It was the most amazing moment ever. She was moving like crazy and measured right where she should be. Her estimated weight was 11 oz. The tech said everything looked good but the doctor will look at it closer later. I think Gary is still in a little shock that he will have to get use to a sweet baby girl and not a tough little boy, but he is so excited to have a Daddy's girl...and I am sure she will be just that.

We have had the name Delaney picked out for a girl for quite some time. Years ago, maybe 5 or 6, my sisters friend had a baby girl who she named Delaney. I have loved it ever since. Several years ago when Gary and I started talking about babies, I told him this name. Surprisingly he liked it too. Ever since we have known that this would be her name. I am so excited that we finally get to use it.
