36 Weeks

I am a week behind but have had this waiting to post since last week..

Can't believe I am already 36 weeks. For some reason over the last couple weeks, it has really hit home how unprepared I feel. I know we will be fine but it has been hard to let go of wanting EVERYTHING to be in it's place before she gets here. So, I think I can safely say nesting has officially hit our nest in the last week. Finally some silver lining to the pregnancy, besides the end result of course;) Gary and me both came to the conclusion one night that after 36 weeks of pregnancy I think I am finally getting used to it! Yes, I am still nauseated daily, have super achy hips and low back, even more pressure and contractions, and a terrible sleep pattern but I really can't complain right now and am almost feeling the best I have felt in months. Emotionally I feel great and even Gary noticed he can't remember the last time I cried!

I am now 2 cm, still about 50% effaced and her head is about -2/-1 station. He said she is well engaged and not ballotable, which means she doesn't float away when you push on her head. My blood pressure is holding up great and so is baby girl's heartbeat. She moves like crazy still and gets the hiccups all the time. I am definitely feeling better about being further along and still hoping she decides it's not time for a couple more weeks. I want her to have more time to develop and more time for Gary and me to get prepared. I asked Gary the other night if he can believe it is almost time and he of course said no and that he doesn't think it will hit him until we bring her home. I can't wait to see him hold Delaney, the thought of it makes me tear up.

I am so excited for my shower this weekend and so thankful to have such great sisters to do something so thoughtful for me. And such great friends and family willing to travel and give time to celebrate the anticipated arrival of baby Delaney.
