Because someday I am sure I will find humor in this story, I am going to type this memory down.... So, Monday-Tuesday I officially had the longest day of my life. It started out at work Monday night, everything went fine except for the usual headache and nausea combo that start at about 4 am. This time I was a little more sick than normal so I wasn't able to eat anything most of the night. That morning after I got off work around 9:30 am, I headed home like normal. Well, about 5 miles outside of Pullman my check engine light came on and my temperature gage was in the red zone. I pulled over immediately and smoke had completely clouded my front window from under the hood. Of course I called Gary he told me the car probably overheated, since we have been having problems keeping coolant in my car, and that I should wait a while and then head back to Pullman and buy some coolant. After about 45 mins, I made it slowly to the very edge of Pullman. I had to pull over twice in 5 miles because my car was again overheating. Remember at this point I have been awake all night and now sick as a dog. Again, I couldn't hold it together emotionally. I have never wanted to be in my bed so much in my life! Anyways, I buy the coolant and some nice stranger assists me with putting in in my tank. He took one look at my car and said "It's not your coolant, your car is toast!" Because we were planning on buying me a new vehicle in November, I wasn't too disappointed except for the fact that we wanted a running car to sell!
Well, I called Gary again and told him I couldn't drive it home so I was stranded in Pullman. Gary was in Starbuck, Washington for work so he wasn't much help at the time but ended up leaving work to come rescue me. I went back to the hospital to wait for him since he had to go from Starbuck to Lewiston and then to Pullman- like 3hrs of traveling with an enclosed trailer. I attempted to sleep in an empty patient room while I waited for him but was so worked up I couldn't. So again my coworkers, have seen my at my worst in this pregnancy. I really was fine and I know there are so many worse things that could have happened, but you truly get delirious after working for 14 hrs at night.
I ended up being able to eat a little lunch and then Gary showed up around 1 pm. He put my car in the trailer and we headed for Lewiston. It seemed like it took forever to get to Lewiston from Pullman. We had to stop in Lewiston before heading home for me to throw up the lunch I had eaten. I felt so bad for Delaney, I knew if I was feeling that lousy, she probably was feeling it too. By the time we got home and I had showered and made it to bed, it was 4 pm. I slept from 4-8 pm, woke up and ate some toast and went back to bed from 10pm-6am. I am feeling much better now, and my car is fixed thanks to Gary. We will be looking for my new one sooner though rather than later. I really didn't mean for this blog to be full of my pitifulness but don't feel like I can share the good without the bad. Enough of my sob story, just a bad day mixed in with some even more amazing ones!
