T minus about 24 hours
Can someone please tell me how I am suppose to leave this face to go back to work? Yes, my time being a stay at home mom is up. Tomorrow night I go back to work :( I know I am very lucky to have the schedule I have and to be able to cut back a little, but it's still hard. It's hard to think about Delaney's perfect lil world being turned upside down, hard to think about the toll 12 hr night shifts play on my physical/mental status, hard to trust a stranger to watch my baby, and especially hard to give up so much time with her. I know we will both adjust and that it will take some time, but it still sucks! On a positive note....Delaney and Gary will have much more bonding time, Delaney will get new opportunities with different faces and experiences, I get to go to work with some amazing nurses who are also some of my best friends, and I get to help other moms and dads welcome precious babies to the world. On that same topic, my job will never be the same since I experienced labor and a new baby for myself. I would like to think I was always a compassionate nurse and a valuable resource for new moms, but now I feel like I have so much more to offer. I'm just hoping the sounds of laboring women and the sight of painful deliveries doesn't cause PTSD....cause I'm thinking it just might! I was at work a week or so ago and heard the painful agonizing screams of a laboring woman and I think I froze like a deer in the headlights. Anyways, please send some thoughts my way as I struggle to make it through my first shift tomorrow night...now I'm going to enjoy my last 24 hours with my sweet lil family.

I hope things are going good for you tonight kells! It is the hardest thing to leave after being home it does get a little easier but I still find myself off in never land staring at her pictures sometimes wishing I were home. If you didn't have those feelings you wouldn't be the amazing mother you are! GOOD LUCK. I will be thinking about you tonight
