This is much harder to do after it's been so long. I did write down a few notes throughout so I could catch up on it all later. I know the biggest thing at this point was the worsening of nausea. It usually starts for me at 6-7 weeks. By 7-8 weeks it is usually pretty severe. This time around I got the flu at about 8 weeks. The whole family did! It was no fun! I remember I was mostly just worried about the baby since we hadn't had an ultrasound yet to confirm things looked ok. I would say the nausea this time around has been about the same as it was with the other two. This pregnancy I have also experienced an irregular heartbeat or skipped beats. I have felt it from the beginning of the pregnancy and maybe even before. I ended up wearing a Holter monitor later in the pregnancy to rule out anything serious. After wearing it for 24 hours it showed 470 something PAC's or premature atrial contractions. It was a very weird feeling and often made me nervous. It would get so bad at times it would take my breath away. Apparently it is very benign though and did not require any further work-up, unless it got worse. Now that I am almost 20 weeks, they have completely gone away as far as I can tell. I think they went away at about 15 or 16 weeks. And at about 10 weeks I experienced really severe insomnia. It was awful! I truly only slept about 2 hours each night for 4 nights straight! And that same thing happened twice in a row! I was so exhausted and tired, but just could not sleep. It was the most frustrating thing ever. Because I was at the peak of my sickness, all I wanted to do was rest and sleep but unfortunately my body had something else in mind. I started to even dread going to bed because I knew there was a good chance I would just end up lying there. I don't know what happened to change things for sure but luckily, I haven't experienced this since. I did stop taking Unisom all together. I use to take it, in very small doses, every once in awhile to help me sleep but realized I was becoming dependent on it for sleep so I stopped it and haven't taken it since. I also started taking my prenatal vitamins at night. I have no idea if that had anything to do with it, but I am willing to keep it up just in case.
